Websites can now infer what files you have via SSD timing attacks

Researchers demonstrated that web pages can measure SSD access patterns to fingerprint visitors based on files they store locally—a privacy leak that works without direct file access. This adds another vector to the already-crowded landscape of browser-based tracking, and makers building privacy-conscious tools or services should understand the threat model.
